Solaris 2.6 System Administration II
This course is an updated version of "Solaris 2.5 System
Administration" (SA-285) to reflect the changes in the Solaris 2.6 operating system.
SA-285 covers the Solaris 2.5 operating system. The two revisions have significant
differences. Additionally, this course includes approximately 60 percent new material not
previously covered in SA-285, to more fully meet the needs of system administration
students. Learn how to administer Sun workstations running Solaris 2.6 (SunOS 5.6) in a
networked environment. Updated to reflect the newest version of Solaris v2.6, this course
will teach you how to install and maintain Sun systems, including changing run levels,
using automount and configuring and naming devices. You will learn how to configure and
troubleshoot the NFS environment, how to configure the NIS environment and how to add
diskless clients - including JavaStations and autoclient. You will also gain practical
experience installing and configuring a server in the Solaris 2.6 environment. Experienced
system administrators who will be responsible for administering Sun workstations in a
Solaris 2.6 networked environment should attend this course. This course is also a
prerequisite for those wish to attend "Solaris 2.X Network Administration (SA-380) |
